The first step in grease stain removal is identification. Grease stains are usually black or grayish brown, so it should be easy to spot them at first sight.   3. With a clean cloth, sponge the solution into the grease stain working from the outside edges toward the center. Rinse with warm water and blot dry.
  4. Repeat Steps #’s two through four until all of the grease is removed or you have reached your desired result. If any grease remains after repeating these steps, then you can try using a commercial carpet cleaner that is specifically designed to remove grease stains (but test this product in an inconspicuous area before using).
